The truth about Beetles? Well, the truth is the 73/74 Super/Sport models are simply the best VW Beetles made.
They have a better ride, more room, and the best engine VW Beetles ever came with.

These cars are way better to drive than a standard early Beetle.

They were not universally loved as much as the 60’s models which only had 1200cc 25bhp engines.

Which means they are quite scarce now and much sought after.
Background
The 1302 was introduced in 1971 and broke a number of conventions at Wolfsburg.

The 1302 was replaced by the 1303 a year later.

It came with several upgrades, including curved front screen, plastic dash and rounded, elephant’s feet rear lights.
The 1303 S had the 1600 engine.

Without doubt, it was the most refined Beetle of all time.
