This Mk IV Sprite is proof that you don’t have to have the most powerful or fast sports car to have maximum driving pleasure.

A quick half-hour spin in a 1275cc Austin Healey Sprite at virtually any time of the year is guaranteed to put a smile on your face.
History and background
The origin of the Sprite was a meeting between Leonard Lord and Donald Healey.

The intention was to fill a gap left by the demise of the 1950s MG Midgets.

The brief was to produce a sports car for the price of a Morris Minor that was simple and inexpensive to produce and own.

In 1957 the go-ahead was given for Donald Healey to design a small, fun sports car.

The Sprite was born.

It was produced from 1958 – 1971
The Mk IV was the final version and seen by many to be the best of the breed.
