The coachbuilt Beardmore Taxi is regarded as a more individual and less common mode of transportation than the Austin FX4.

This example is the last diesel engine-taxi Beardmore produced and was supplied when new to Graham Terrace Motors Ltd of Maida Vale, West London.

At some point, the Beardmore found its way to Amsterdam and spent many years in the Netherland’s capital before the current custodian repatriated the vehicle to the UK in 2012.

On its acquisition, the original registration number was reinstated by the DVLA - but with the assistance of the London Vintage Taxi Association.

Maintenance during the last eight years has included the fitting of new king-pins and bushes, a brake overhaul, the fitting of a new clutch and the reconditioning of the fuel pump.

The Perkins engine is in good working order.

Cosmetically, we understand the Beardmore to be in good condition throughout and its owner has very much enjoyed his unusual classic on car club runs and at historic shows.
