This ultimate big boy’s toy has formed part of a historic vehicle collection in Devon since 2007.

When purchased by its collector custodian, a programme of restoration was undertaken: the heavy steel tipper body it was fitted with was removed and changed to a dropside body - which was much more practical for its use as a West Country show and road rally vehicle.

Other work included the removal of the cab for renovation, a mechanical inspection (and fettling as required) and the cleaning and repainting of the chassis.

The dropside body would now benefit from some maintenance repairs to the timber floor, but otherwise, we are assured that it is in very nice, usable order.

The Rootes engine and six speed gearbox perform well and the lorry has regularly participated successfully in historic commercial runs since the restoration was completed.

It will be driven in excess of one hundred miles to the auction sale from its home in south west Devon.
