The Citroen Type C was made by the French car company between 1922 and 1926 and was widely known as the 5CV.

Originally referred to as the Type C, it become known as the C2 in 1924 and then modified again into the C3 in 1925.

Some considered the tapered rear body end of this little light car to resemble a hen’s bottom, so was affectionately called the “Cul-de-poule”; equally, “Petit Citron” was also used to describe the motor car’s diminutive stature and initial single colour choice.

The C2 tourer was a two-seat example but the C3 had an added single seat at the rear, hence the name “Trefle” or Cloverleaf.

This smart example was rescued from a tar and bitumen preservation (which seemingly worked wonders).

After 1963, the Citroen was subsequently restored to a good standard.

Originally, it is understood that the motor car was a C2, but early in its history a conversion to a Cloverleaf was carried out, using the correct body.
