The car has undergone a comprehensive restoration with significant investment in parts (over £15,000). Major components like the engine, gearbox, and rear axle have been rebuilt, and the braking system has been thoroughly overhauled. The interior has been completely redone. While presented to a high standard, the rating reflects that it's a restored vehicle that may have minor signs of use from being enjoyed on the show circuit for six years, rather than a concours-perfect, un-driven example.

The arrival of the MGA in 1955 represented a decisive new chapter for MG.

With its low-slung, aerodynamic bodywork and clean, modern lines, it was a dramatic departure from the upright sports cars that had preceded it.

MG chose to unveil its new creation at the 1955 Le Mans 24 Hours, a deliberate move intended to demonstrate that the MGA's streamlined appearance was dictated not merely by fashion, but by performance.

The decision to produce the MGA had itself required some persuasion.

BMC had initially been reluctant to proceed, having already committed to the Austin-Healey 100, but the remarkable performance of an experimental MGA prototype helped change minds.

Fitted with a streamlined body, the prototype set a succession of speed records, eventually reaching an impressive 153 mph.

Production followed, and the MGA proved an immediate success.
