Revealed at the 2003 Detroit Motor Show as a production development of the AMV8 concept, the V8 Vantage marked a significant new chapter for Aston Martin.

Developed around a compact aluminium platform and clothed in elegant styling by Henrik Fisker, it brought genuine sports-car dynamics to the marque's range while retaining the craftsmanship and grand touring ability for which Aston Martin was renowned.

At its heart was the company's 4.3-litre quad-cam, 32-valve V8, mounted low and well back within the aluminium chassis to achieve an ideal front-to-rear weight distribution.
