AI Listing Summary

This is a Gentry sportscar, a replica of the MG TF, built in the early 2000s using a Triumph Spitfire/MG Midget 1500cc engine. Owned by a retired race mechanic, it has undergone recent maintenance but requires further minor adjustments before being road-ready, making it a project car for enthusiasts.

Condition

6

While the car has received several new parts and maintenance, the listing states that further minor "fettling" is required, suggesting it's not in perfect mechanical condition. Cosmetically, the description doesn't provide enough detail to assess paint or body condition definitively, but the age and kit-built nature imply some imperfections are likely. Therefore, a rating of 'Good' seems appropriate, indicating moderate wear and the need for some reconditioning.

Ownership of the company changed in the late 1980s, at which point the car was now Ford-based, but by 2001 the doors closed at Gentry.

In 2008 the concept was sold to new owners who formed the Gentry Car Company, based in Nuneaton, and production restarted.

In 2019 the company and all rights were sold again and The Gentry Motor Car Company Ltd was reformed, shortly to put the Gentry back into production with new MG and Mazda-based engine options, in addition to offering restoration services fo...
