AI Listing Summary

This 1970 Ford Capri RS2600 is a nicely restored example believed to be one of three pre-production prototypes. While not definitively proven, its history file dating back to the 1970s and RS-type modifications make it a tempting proposition, despite having a replacement engine block.

Condition

7

While the car has undergone a comprehensive restoration and is believed to be in good condition, the engine is not original, which detracts from its originality. The listing states the car has been kept as close to the original specification as possible. The listing mentions slight wear visible in paint, interior, or wheels. One or two small dents or curb marks may be present but are not prominent, and requires minor reconditioning.

By September 1970 the first production RS2600 rolled off the line at the Niehl Plant, only to find that on full lock the wide alloy wheels fouled the front wings, resulting in the unique flared front wings on the RS2600 and RS 3100 as we k...
