In the 2006 Benelli invested a significant sum of money ( € 500,000 reputedly) to participate in 2007 World Endurance Championship – a championship not completed by Benelli due to whatever sum was invested being insufficient.
This Tornado was one of the two prepared for the championship, but it only competed in one event – ‘Les 24 Hores de Catalunya de Motociclisme’ with Team X-one.
The riders were Peter Oettl, Luca Pasini and Paolo Tessari.
Unfortunately the engine broke during the race and a new one replaced it.
