KEY FACTS This 930-generation Porsche 911 Turbo ‘Flachbau’ is a rare factory ‘Werk 1’ conversion, believed to be one of just 58 early examples built.

It is powered by a turbocharged 3.3-litre flat-six engine, now fitted with a larger turbocharger, driving the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.

This example is understood to have originally been a Kuwait-delivered model, which is now located in Italy.

The odometer indicates 58,383 km, though this is not warranted.

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES With increasing pressure from customers for Porsche to produce a 935-style road car, the marque eventually caved.

During the 1980s, it established the new ‘Sonderwunsch’ department, located at the Zuffenhausen repair and restoration department, better known as ‘Werk 1’.

Over the following few years, a small number of 930-era 911 Turbos were converted with Porsche’s first-generation ‘Flachbau’ (Flat nose) design.
