KEY FACTS This Rover P3 is an attractive restored example of the refined classic British saloon, which is now a rare sight on the road.

Under the bonnet sits a naturally aspirated 2.6-litre inline-six, which develops around 54kW and sends it to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission.

This example is known as a ‘Six-Light’ saloon, which is identified by the presence of its rear quarter-light windows that were absent on the Sports model, and it is in desirable ‘75’ guise denoting the larger engine.

The odometer indicates 6,288 miles, though this is not warranted.

EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES The P3 ‘75’ featured a 2.6-litre inline-six engine with a light-alloy construction, a steel chassis as opposed to earlier ash-framed cars, independent front suspension, anti-roll bar stabilisers, more numerous rubber bushings, and a ‘free wheel’ allowing clutch-less gear changes.
