At the London Motor Show in October 1969 the manufacturers introduced the Austin/Morris 1300 GT.

The Morris cars were assembled at Cowley, the Austins at Longbridge (BMC!) It featured the same 1275cc twin-carburetter engine as the MG 1300, but with a black full-width grille, a black vinyl roof and a thick black metal strip along the swage line.
