When Mercedes-Benz unveiled the production SLR McLaren at the 2003 Frankfurt Motor Show, it revived a name made famous by the 1955 300 SLR racers.

The SLR combines a carbon-fiber body, carbon-ceramic brakes, butterfly doors, and a rear airbrake.

Power comes from an AMG-built 5,439-cc supercharged V8 rated at 626 PS, sent through the five-speed AMG Speedshift R automatic transmission.



This example completed its final quality inspection at McLaren Cars in Woking on 3 February 2005.

It was delivered new on 14 February 2005 through Merbag Schlieren, just outside Zurich.

The car was specified in Crystal Galaxite Black Metallic with a Black and Anthracite leather interior.

It was additionally specified with "XL" seats for both driver and passenger, and 19-inch turbine-design wheels.
