Fiat introduced the 850 in 1964, holding to the formula established by the 600 and Nuova 500 with a small-capacity four-cylinder mounted behind the rear axle.
Like its predecessors, the diminutive platform found its way to Carlo Abarth's works in Turin, where the modest sedan was reworked into a genuine giant-killer.
