From 1944, renowned coachbuilder Carrozzeria Ghia was owned by the legendary designer Felice Mario Boano, who had a significant hand in establishing Ghia's signature styling cues including its low-slung rooflines and sweeping curves.

In the 1950s, Ghia worked locally with Ferrari and Alfa Romeo, but its work throughout this decade was dominated by its collaborations with American titans Chrysler, Ford, and General Motors.

Such was Ghia's fixation across the pond that even its European collaborations echoed the silhouettes of large American sedans –albeit scaled down to European proportions.



One such example of Ghia's American styling influences was the Fiat 1100 TV Coupé Ghia, a rare variation of the 1100 Turismo Veloce sports coupe.

For this work, Boano intentionally looked to American styling tastes, chiseling away at the body until a sleek coupe remained that effortlessly incorporated Ghia's signature elegant curves and low roofline.
