The Honda NSX Type S emerged in 1997 as the updated, lightweight NSX variant designed with the winding mountain roads of Japan in mind.
Building upon the transformative 1997 NA2 performance update, the Type S layered on a suite of weight-saving measures that shaved 45 kilograms through the use of lightweight BBS aluminum wheels, lighter spoiler and rear glass, manual steering, Recaro carbon-Kevlar full bucket seats, and a titanium shift knob.
