First renowned for advanced performance modifications of Mercedes models, AMG became the official high-performance subsidiary of Mercedes-Benz AG in 2005, unveiling its first fully in-house project in September 2009: the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG.
Its design was inspired by the legendary 1954 300 SL, with a long hood pushing the cabin near the rear axle, iconic gullwing doors, and signature side vents.
