The Ford GT was a bold reawakening of the marque's supercar era in the form of the reimagined Le Mans-conquering GT40.
Conceived in concept form to celebrate Ford Motor Company's centennial anniversary in 2003, the new-age GT debuted several unique features all together in a retro package with an unmistakable silhouette designed by Camilo Pardo.
Carroll Shelby was also brought back to serve as technical advisor on the production of the GT40's successor.
Although lacking a Le Mans counterpart at the time, the new Ford GT quickly cemented itself as an unparalleled driver's car, offering a mix of analog-style controls and modern performance.
Power came from a supercharged 5.4-liter V8 with DOHC four-valves-per-cylinder, producing 550 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque through a Ricardo six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.
As a result, the Ford GT sprinted from zero to 60 mph in 3.3 seconds and on to a top speed of 205 mph.
