Arriving four years after the 458 Italia, Ferrari's 458 Speciale debuted for the 2013 model year as the most focused and exhilarating expression of Maranello's mid-engine V8 platform.

While its exterior closely resembled the standard car, the Speciale incorporated a suite of engineering revisions and lightweight materials intended to sharpen every response.

As Road & Track aptly noted, it was "designed to help ordinary drivers do extraordinary things."



Behind the driver sat Ferrari's F136 4.5-liter V8, reworked with upgraded internals and a 14.0:1 compression ratio, enabling a screaming 9,000-rpm redline and establishing, at the time, the marque's most powerful naturally aspirated V8 to date.
