After relocating to Turin and evolving into Costruzione Automobili Intermeccanica, the company evolved from producing performance components for European marques such as Fiat, Peugeot, and Renault, into its own low-volume sports car manufacturer.
That ambition culminated in the Intermeccanica Italia, a sleek grand tourer introduced in 1966 that blended sophisticated European engineering and American power and torque.
Originally commissioned by Jack Griffith as the Griffith 600, the project ultimately found its footing under Intermeccanica's stewardship, where it matured into the firm's defining model.
