Long regarded as one of Ford's most formidable touring car platforms, the Capri proved especially potent under FIA Group 1 regulations where showroom-based performance and race-bred durability converged.

Famously campaigned to great effect by Ford factory driver Gordon Spice, the Mk III Capri became a dominant force in the British Touring Car Championship from the mid 1970s through the final season of the Group 1 class in 1981.

With regulations mandating near-production specification, the handsomely equipped, high-performance Mk III Capri 3.0 S lent itself naturally to competition conversion.



Beginning life as a 1981 Ford Capri 3.0 S, this example has been transformed into a full Group 1 specification Capri by U.K.-based historic racing experts Jordan Racing Team (JRT), who has been building vintage racecars for historic motorsport events such as Goodwood Members Meeting and HSR Daytona for over a decade.
