Vehicle Details
AI Listing Summary
This 1971 Lotus Elan +2S, a 28-year owner car, has been significantly upgraded with a Spyder Engineering chassis and a rebuilt engine featuring performance enhancements. While it presents well with a wood dashboard and desirable options, its accident history, color change, and TMU status suggest it's a well-maintained driver rather than a concours example.

Condition
7
The car has undergone significant mechanical rebuilds and upgrades including a new chassis, engine modifications, and upgraded suspension and drivetrain components. However, it has a history of an accident and a non-original paint color (repainted white from original Lotus Yellow), and the odometer is listed as TMU (True Mileage Unknown). These factors indicate it's in very good condition with some wear and necessary reconditioning, but not excellent or above.

It was subsequently fitted with a Spyder Engineering chassis in 2004 and underwent a rebuild of its 1.6L twin-cam inline-four from 2006 to 2008 that involved overboring the block as well as installing oversized forged pistons and a stroker crankshaft.
