This Courage Cougar sports racing prototype was the second chassis built by Courage Competition in Le Mans, France, and began its life as a C02, debuting in 1984 with the first of its five appearances in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Initially powered by a Cosworth DFL V8, chassis 002 was piloted by Michel Dubois, John Jellinek, and Courage founder Yves Courage en route to a retirement with oil pump failure in its first outing.
It was then leased to Jellinek for IMSA GTP appearances at Road America and Watkins Glen, finishing ninth overall at the latter.
