This 1950 Skorpion is said to be the prototype that served as the basis for fiberglass composite body kits designed by stylist Ralph Roberts and plastics pioneer John “Jack” Wills.
First exhibited at the 1951 Petersen Motorama in Los Angeles, California, the car later graced the cover of and changed hands several times before being re-purchased by Wills in 1988.
A refurbishment was carried out before the car was displayed at the San Diego Automotive Museum, and it was later part of Garth Richards’ collection.
