This 1977 Triumph TR8 fixed-head coupe is one of approximately 150 ACN-series examples produced for testing and evaluation in the North American market and then sold to the public.

It was built in July 1977 and dispatched to California, where it is said to have been used as a dealer demo in Santa Monica before being auctioned around 1980 to the original private owner.

That person retained the vehicle and parked it at his home in Los Angeles for approximately 25 years before the seller purchased the car in 2016.
