This 1981 Maico 490 Mega2 was acquired by the seller in 2021, reportedly from its original owner, and was subsequently restored with a rebuild of its air-cooled 488cc two-stroke single, replacement of its plastics, and a refinish in red with yellow accents.

The engine was Cerakoted, and the bike was fitted with a Wheelsmith Engineering shaved-fin cylinder and expansion-chamber exhaust system, Excel rims and stainless-steel spokes, Magura hand controls, Pirelli knobby tires, and Öhlins piggyback shocks.
