This 1955 Cadillac Series Sixty Special sedan is said to have been purchased new by lawyer Edward Masry, who—with the assistance of Erin Brockovich—brought a direct-action lawsuit against the Pacific Gas & Electric Company in the mid-1990s that became the basis for the 2000 film .

Masry retained the car until at least 2001, and it was purchased out of long-term storage in California by the individual from whom the seller eventually bought the car in 2016.

The interior was reupholstered in two-tone blue leather and cloth under prior ownership, and service performed under current ownership involved replacing the carpeting, fuel tank, fuel pump, distributor cap, ignition wires, and portions of the exhaust system.
