This 1968 BMW 1600-2 was converted into a race car after being acquired by racer Peter Herke in 1969 and was campaigned in various SCCA and regional events on the West Coast before being sold in 1978.

Later reacquired by Herke in the 1990s as a shell and relocated to Florida, chassis 1566735 underwent a multi-year rebuild completed in 2001 and was subsequently raced in various SVRA and HSR events over the next two decades.

The car features a fiberglass air dam and fender flares and is finished in white with a multi-color #16 livery.
