This 1954 Mercedes-Benz 300SL is one of 1,400 Gullwing coupes built during a three-year production run and is one of just 167 manufactured during the model’s first four months between August and December 1954.

Chassis 4500089 was completed in November 1954 before being shipped to its first owner in San Francisco on December 6th of the same year.

The car is said to have been sold in the early 1980s to a Toronto collector and later purchased in 1984 by Californian marque specialist Scott Grundfor, who completed a refurbishment in 2001.
