This 1949 Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 is one of approximately 458 Super Sports built between 1939 and 1951 and was produced in October 1949 before being fitted with special cabriolet coachwork by Pinin Farina.

Chassis 915871 was delivered new in April 1950 to Alfa Romeo works racing driver Count Goffredo Zehender, who won the 1931 24 Hours of Spa Francorchamp in a Mercedes-Benz SSK before managing the pioneering Ferrari race team Gruppo Inter in 1947 and 1948.
