Sponsored by the dealership, it was then raced by Gary Gove in SCCA A Production and other race series, with a replacement engine, an M22 gearbox, and a 36-gallon fuel tank fitted following its first race.
The car achieved multiple podiums and several class wins with continual development over the course of the year.
The replacement engine was damaged in its last race and removed following the 1966 season, and after changing hands the car was raced in various configurations until the 1980s, at which time it was stored.
