This American LaFrance fire engine is a Metropolitan-model equine-drawn steam pumper wagon that was constructed in the early 1900s and is said to have served in Indianapolis.

The wagon spent several years in storage under the ownership of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum until being deaccessioned in 2017.

Finished in red, the apparatus carries a coal-fired Fox sectional water-tube boiler designed to feed steam to a two-piston water pump that uses vacuum to draw water from an external source via a suction hose to an attack hose.

Additional features include a driver’s seat, a rear bench, wood-spoke wheels with solid rubber tires, rear drum brakes, dual discharge and intake connections, and four hoses.

This steam pumper fire engine is now offered in Taft, California, with a bill of sale.
