This 1970 Alpine A110 1600S left the factory in March 1970 and later spent approximately 15 years under the ownership of a German rally driver before being purchased in 2010 by former professional soccer player Santiago Cañizares.

Chassis 16697 was brought to the US in 2012 upon its acquisition by the current owner, who subsequently commissioned a refurbishment in preparation for vintage racing.

The car is finished in a blue, white, orange, and black livery and wears Group 4–style fender flares as well as 13” Gotti multi-piece wheels with orange centers.
