This 1925 Rolls-Royce 40/50 is a final-year Silver Ghost that began its life as chassis 48TM in mid-1924 before being returned to the factory for modernization and emerging in December 1924 as chassis 122AU.

Outfitted with Barker Pullman limousine coachwork, the updated car was delivered to its first owner in London in May 1925 before being purchased in February 1927 by the First Lord Shuttleworth.

After three changes of hand, the car underwent a refurbishment between 1979 and 1985 that included the installation of a polished aluminum body in the style of a Barker barrel-sided tourer.
