This 1965 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA is one of approximately 500 examples of the aluminum-bodied homologation model built between 1965 and 1967 and was completed on September 15, 1965.

Chassis 613841 was sold new on October 28, 1965, in Milan, Italy, before being moved to Brazil by its second owner, who is said to have claimed a local racing championship behind its wheel.

In the late 1970s or early 1980s, the car was imported to the US, where it passed through a series of San Francisco Bay Area owners, the second of whom had it converted to a race car for use in vintage competition.
