Chassis 105294 is said to have been special-ordered by a US Air Force Master Sergeant stationed in Libya, where it was delivered via Porsche distributor Pagani on March 20, 1959, before moving with the first owner to Germany and then the US.

It was gifted by its original owner while in hospice in Texas to his doctor, who in turn traded it to a former Indy 500 chief mechanic and shop owner in 1988.
