Chassis 070 is said to have been ordered new along with three other RS200s by a Texas philanthropist and oilman, on whose behalf the cars were purchased by former F1 driver Innes Ireland in the UK.
The car reportedly passed through the hands of racing engineer Terry Hoyle before arriving in the US, where it later spent four years in a Seattle collection before returning to the UK in 2014.
