This 1982 Lamborghini Countach is the first of approximately 321 examples of the LP500 S built during three years of production and was displayed as Lamborghini’s debut of the variant at the 1982 Geneva Motor Show.
Chassis CLA12472 was then sold new in Italy to an owner who relocated it to Germany and then imported it to the US, where it was purchased in 1985 by Quiet Riot lead guitarist Carlos Cavazo.
During Cavazo’s 35-year ownership, the car was fitted with fuel injection in place of its original Weber carburetors and remained registered in California until being placed in long-term storage at Franco’s European Sports Cars in Van Nuys, California, circa 2001.
