This 1948 Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 Sport chassis was built in October 1947 and was originally outfitted with Freccia d’Oro bodywork that was removed under previous ownership.
Acquired by the selling dealer 15 years ago, chassis 915418 carries a 2,443cc DOHC inline-six that features triple Weber carburetors and is mated to a four-speed manual transmission.
Additional equipment in place on the chassis includes a differential, four-wheel finned hydraulic drum brakes, components of the four-wheel independent suspension, 16” Borrani wire wheels, a steering assembly with a wood-rimmed wheel, a water pump, a dynamo, a Magneti Marelli coil, a radiator, and other ancillaries.
This 6C 2500 rolling chassis is now offered by the selling dealer in Gilbert, Arizona, at no reserve with a spare Borrani wheel and a clean Alaska title.
The 6C 2500 was produced between 1939 and 1951 as the final evolution of Alfa Romeo’s line of six-cylinder cars that began in 1927 with the 6C 1500.
