This prototype was built by Bizzarrini S.p.A.
in late 1965 for French businessman and racer Regis Fraissinet.
It is said to have been retained by Bizzarrini until the 1970s and was imported to the US in the 1980s.
It was acquired by the seller in 2005 and subsequently refurbished, with work completed in 2008 prior to the car being shown at the 2013 Concorso Italiano in Monterey, California.
It is currently on loan to the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
The car features fiberglass bodywork finished in red over a tubular steel chassis, and power comes from a rebuilt 327ci Chevrolet V8 paired with a ZF five-speed manual gearbox.
