Condition

The car has been stored for an extended period and has had some restoration work done, including new shocks, tires, brake components, and replacement of the convertible top. The interior has some wear, with cracking on the center console and steering wheel, but the seats have been recovered and carpets re-dyed. Overall, the car appears to be in good condition for its age and history, with some cosmetic and mechanical work needed to bring it to a higher standard.

This 1968 Ford Torino GT is one of 709 built with the Pace Car Promotion package, commemorating the three cars used to pace the 1968 Indianapolis 500.

The original owner purchased this 390ci V8-powered example from Phillipi Motor Company in Stayton, Oregon on October 31, 1968.

The car has since been stored in the original owners’ garage and used sparingly.

It had been off the road for several years prior to the selling dealer’s acquisition in 2018, though the seller was able to drive it home to his shop.
