Manufactured at BMC's Adderley Road, Birmingham works in late 1971, by which time Traveller production had transferred from Cowley, this example has enjoyed remarkably long-term ownership, having been acquired by the current registered keeper in 1983 and retained for over 40 years.

The car was purchased from the son of its original owner, Mr M.A.

Dowse of Suffolk, whose name appears in the original service book, initially stamped by Henlys Ltd of Ipswich.
