Description Ex-military; demobbed in 1975; one enthusiast owner from 1978 – 2019; restored with lots of upgrades including replacement chassis and reconditioned Isuzu 2.8 diesel engine; recent gearbox rebuild; stainless steel exhaust; Heritage Certificate; driven 50 miles to the sale As the Heritage Certificate confirms, this Land Rover Series IIA 109” was built in February 1964 and was in service with the British military until being demobbed in September 1975.
From 1978 – 2019 it was owned by a Mr D Hutchinson of Cobham, a Land Rover enthusiast who spent a great deal of money on the vehicle, as detailed in correspondence and many invoices on file.
Highlights include: 1982 – Completely rewired and converted from 24v positive earth to 12v negative earth.
1990 – Body removed and the vehicle was fitted with a reconditioned S2A chassis supplied by EVE Components Ltd of Bucks, complete with axles, springs and dampers.
