We are told that the previous owner had another Peugeot 205 GTi which had been converted to race/rally spec but when this was damaged on an event, rather than get it repaired, all the race/rally equipment was transferred into the shell you see here.

Being a Junior with a 954cc engine and soft suspension, it would have led a comparatively easy life, meaning that the shell would remain in much better shape than a GTi, whose stiffer suspension, more powerful engine and ‘boy racer appeal’ inevitably puts far more stress on the chassis.
