Description An opportunity to own a rare and unique one owner car; 38,000 miles; UK supplied; thought to be one of only seven remaining cars on the road in the UK today Unusually for a German Ford model, this 1,797cc V6-engined Ford Taunus M20 (P7b) was registered in the UK from new, rather than being subsequently imported.
It was purchased new in September 1973 from Bristol Street Motors in Birmingham and was used daily until December 1980.
The vendor then became ill and was undergoing treatment preventing him from driving.
When he was fit again the Taunus couldn’t be moved due to the clutch plate seized to the flywheel.
The car then stayed in his garage for about 10 years, until Dudley Technical Collage had an advert in the newspaper offering car repairs to the general public by apprentices.
The vendor got in touch and the car was collected and put back on the road.
On the first journey out and about the car broke down and had to be collected by the AA and taken back home.
