Description Rare factory right-hand drive; super condition throughout; just one UK owner; from a wonderful private collection Ford launched its first V8 models in 1932 but the range got a major update in 1935 with the arrival of the Model 48.
Only in production for a couple of years before it was replaced by the Model 60, it had many improvements over the earlier models including a stronger chassis, more streamlined Art Deco styling and front-hinged doors.
It was powered by an 85bhp light metal alloy 221ci (3.6-litres) flathead V8 driving the rear wheels via three-speed sliding mesh manual transmission.
The Model 48 came in a bewildering number of body styles (saloon; coupe; roadster; phaeton; station wagon; pickup etc) and has always been highly prized by the hot-rodding community.
Built in 1935, this rare factory right-hand drive Model 48 has a roadster-style open body with rumble seats concealed in the tail to make it a four-seater when required.
