Rated at 10hp, it was light and reasonably brisk with a three-speed gearbox and a top speed of 45mph.

Like the Type-A (a half-track version of which became the first car ever to cross the Sahara in 1922), the Type-B was famed for being virtually indestructible and proved a big success on the export market, Citroen’s pioneering use of mass-production techniques meaning that they could churn them out at a rate of 200 per day, some 89,800 being sold before it was largely replaced by the Type-C in 1925.

The dash plaque would suggest that this delightful Torpedo-bodied B2 was supplied by S&A Fuller in Bath and it was registered on 9th December 1922 to Mr J Monteath of Bradford-On-Avon.

Copies of the County records on file indicate that it was originally painted Slate Blue.
