Dating from December 1973, this later model Ford Escort MkI left the factory in 1300GT guise which was the performance version of the humble Escort, with a tuned 1.3 litre Crossflow OHV four-cylinder engine under the bonnet.

This example looks ripe for restoration having been purchased by our vendor earlier this year, but has become one restoration too much and is offered for sale ‘as is’, as a rolling shell with an engine fitted.

We are told it was built for fast road fun given the roll hoop, bucket seats, wide arches and rally style instrumentation fitted.

We have not had the car running, and it is not known if it has run in recent years or what engine is currently fitted or in what state of tune/health but we are told it will turn and is not siezed.
