Vehicle Details

AI Listing Summary

This right-hand drive Maserati Merak is a stalled restoration project from the early 1990s. It comes with its original engine (not currently installed) and has good bodywork, making it a cost-effective project for someone skilled in engine building.

Condition

5

The car is described as an older, stalled restoration project. While the bodywork is good and the engine is included (though not installed), it requires significant work, including engine building and addressing issues identified in a failed MOT test. This suggests a condition rating in the 'Good' to 'Above Average' range due to the need for reconditioning and completion of the restoration.

Description AMENDMENT: Stalled older restoration; believed complete; good bodywork; engine free but not yet fitted; just needs some hours.....

Drive shafts now located.....

This RHD Merak has been comprehensively restored, photos and invoices on file suggesting that this work was undertaken in the early 1990s.

At some point, it had a more powerful Merak SS engine fitted, which has subsequently been removed and repatriated with its original car, leaving this example with its original engine supplied, but not re-installed.

It's last Mot expired in June 2013, although it was presented for a fresh ticket in May 2014 which it failed on a number of small items, mainly tyre, brake and headlight related.

Our vendor acquired the car in 2017 as part of a package of cars and has decided to part with it now that his other Merak is back together and up and running with its original engine.

We are told that as far as the vendor knows, the car is complete and comes with its original power unit....
